Crock Pot Turkey Chili

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, but sometimes there are just too many leftovers. Every year we stay home for this holiday, just the three of us, and cook a whole turkey. We always have SO MUCH TURKEY MEAT to deal with. Thankfully, my husband loves to cook and has figured out different meals to make using said turkey meat. This is HIS RECIPE, I am not taking credit for any of it. Thanks BABE! But I so want to share it with you!

If you can sauté a few vegetables, open some cans with a can opener, and pour it all into a crock pot, then you got this! I love it because the crock pot is on all day (literally, it takes 8 hours) and smells up the house so nice. Before you start, make sure you get all your tools. I have links provided where you can buy everything you need on Amazon.

CROCK POT GARLIC PEELER

What you will need:

Veggies

1 bell pepper diced

3 jalapeño peppers (seeds and veins removed for no heat – keep them in for extra spicy!)

2 celery stalks diced

2 small yellow onions diced

3 cloves of garlic minced

Spices

1 tsp coriander

2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder

2 ½ TBSP chili powder

1 ½ TBSP smoked paprika

1 ½ TBSP cumin

Salt and pepper to taste

Canned Items

3 (15 oz) cans of diced tomatoes

2 (15 oz) cans of tomato sauce

2 (15 oz) cans of dark kidney beans

1 (15 oz) can of black beans

Leftover turkey meat removed from bone and chopped.

Sauté veggies in a large pan over medium heat.

While they are cooking, place all the canned items into the crock pot with spices.

Add chopped turkey to crock pot.

Once the onions turn clear in your pan, you are done.

Add cooked veggies into the crock pot with everything else.

Place crock pot on low for 8 hours. Seriously, that is it! Let the crock pot do its thing.

The size of this recipe was for our family of three but still offered us lots of leftovers. This is something you can freeze for later or turn it into sloppy joes for another meal. It is so delicious & so versatile. I hope you enjoy it! I paired mine up with cornbread muffins and it was SO GOOD! I hope you make it, and please share your photos! Happy Cooking!
