Pork Belly, Not Fried!
If any Mommas are trying to increase their fats because of Keto or just want a quality boost of energy, try this! No deep frying, no grease, so it ends up tasting better than ever!
I got a strip of pork belly from my local farmer, heritage raised pork with no nitrates and no preservatives. Just pure, direct from the farm. My husband loves to eat Keto, and I join in if it tastes good. And this did!
Not only do I love the flavor, but I love the energy boost I get from them. I pop two of these in the afternoon and I feel energized, since my body will use this fat as fuel. And in turn, switches to burn my own body fat. At least, that is the goal here.
This recipe could not be any easier, as all you have to do is cut, place in your air fryer, set it and forget it.
What you will need:
1 fresh slice of pork belly
1 air fryer
a dash of sea salt
pair of tongs
Slice the pork belly into equal cubes
Place them into the air fryer without letting them touch one another
Use the French Fry setting, which is about 20 minutes
After 20 minutes, use a pair of tongs to flip each cube over
(It's okay if they shrank a little. This is normal)
Set them for another 20 minutes on the French Fry setting again, but check them after 10 minutes. Mine were done at this point. It depends on the strength of your air fryer.
Once done, allow them to cool on a paper towel, then lightly salt them if you desire. They will be nice and crispy, like a little chomp of crunchy goodness. Refrigerate in an air-tight container. They should keep for about 3-5 days.
I have used these in tacos, tossed them in a salad, or even put them over white rice as Asian fusion. Whatever you feel, this is a nice base food you can use to make many meals out of. Or just eating it as a snack works too! Hope you enjoy this one.
